‘Help rural poor get justice’

Justice Huluvadi G. Ramesh, Judge, Madras High Court, has called upon advocates to help rural poor get justice.

Inaugurating a training programme for panel advocates at the Judicial Academy here recently, Justice Ramesh said that Legal assistance should be extended to the poor and downtrodden.

Free legal aid should reach every corner of the state. The judiciary and the advocates are the architects to create a healthy society. Even if the people in the lowest strata have adequate legal knowledge, the society will transform, he added.

He also called up on the judiciary and the advocates to conduct free legal aid camps in rural areas.
